Opening of a 2-year post-doc position at UNL/NMS

Opening of a 2-year post-doctoral position at UNL/NMS (see attachment). The work as PhD holder in the scope of the HORIZON-HLTH-2022-STAYHLTH-02 halt-RONIN is intended to perform the following functions:

  1. Development of human liver spheroids and organoids for application in the study of the metabolic liver MASLD- and MASH- disease states,
  2. Genetic engineering of target genes in human hepatocytes,
  3. Participation in the supervision of MSc- and PhD-students,
  4. Participation in Lab-management of the Xenobiotic Metabolism laboratory of the Research Center Toxico-genomics and Human Health (ToxOmics)

Important to note that the deadline for application is November 25th.

General requirements of the application:

Candidates may be Portuguese nationals, foreigners, and stateless persons, and should be holder of a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals an adequate profile for the activity to be developed, with the following requeriments:

  • Holder of PhD in Life Sciences or related areas.

Specific requeriments of application:

The curriculum evaluation will consider the following requirements:

  1. In-depth experience in 3D cell cultures, preferably of human
  2. Profound experience in drug metabolism, particulary of cytochrome P450 and POr (25%)
  3. In-depth knowledge in enzyme kinetics, as well as of liver MASLD and MASH diesease (25%)
  4. Experience in genetic engineering of mammalian cells, preferably by using the CRISPR-Cas approach (12.5%)
  5. Experience in MSc- and PhD-student supervision (12.5%)

Contracting:

The contacting is made through a fixed uncertain term work contract under the Labor Code, as a PhD holder, and is remunerated according to remunertation level 38 of the single remuneration table (TRU), pursuant to article 5 of Decree-Law no. 11-A/2017, of December 29

Place of work:

The place work is located on Faculdade de Ciencias Médicas/Nova Medical School (FCM/NMS), Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL) at Compo dos Mártires da Pátria 130, 1169-056 Lisboa.
